Morrison County is characterized by a stable, productive rural/small town labor force and reliable work ethics. Our employees are hardworking and dependable.

Morrison County has a workforce second to none. St. John’s and St. Ben’s universities, St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud Vocational College and Central Lakes College are all located within a 45 minute drive. All of these institutions are willing to develop customized training for an individual company. The Minnesota Workforce Center is located in Little Falls and they can assist your business in locating and training skilled employees. Growing up with a rural work ethic, our employees are hardworking and dependable. Businesses that chose Morrison County as a location twenty years ago still have some of their original employees!

Our available rural labor force provides hard working individuals, capable of highly skilled technical as well as mechanical skills. They are flexible in their needs for full or part time employment. The labor force of Morrison county residents averaged 13,000. Local employers find employees frequently commute up to a 30 mile radius to the area from Todd, Crow wing, Northern Benton and Stearns Counties.

Employment and unemployment in the area follows the seasonal cycles typical of Minnesota, reflecting the impact of agricultural and seasonal construction.

JOB TRAINING
Community Development of Morrison County, Inc. works very closely with Rural Minnesota CEP, Inc. which has a concentrated employment program to provide on-the-job training, tax credits and classroom training. It maintains close working relationships with the local school districts, area technical institutes and employment/training providers to enable these institutions to better serve the needs of local employers. Local high schools provide industrial programs, such as graphic arts, to ensure students marketable skills when they leave the school system. Employee training programs can be arranged to meet the specific needs of new and expanding industries.
