Swanville Repair gives advice on how to care for a car as the fall and winter months approach

Winter is coming, and with it, a potential snowy nightmare for those Minnesotans too naive or foolhardy to properly prepare their vehicles for the dreaded season.

Fortunately, drivers can take appropriate measures to adequately take care of their car moving into the fall and winter months. Blake Schmidt, owner of Swanville Repair, gave some advice on what steps to take to keep drivers and their vehicles safe.

“If you don’t have good tires, you’re gonna be all over the road. And that’s dangerous right there on itself,” Schmidt said. “Check all your fluids, parts, stuff like that. Front end alignment, make sure all that’s tight because if your alignment’s off in an ice patch, it’ll obviously kick you off the road. And all around make sure your vehicle is running good, too. The last thing you want is it to die when it’s below zero, and you’re stuck on the side of the road.”
