Camille Warzecha, president of the Morrison County Historical Society, provided an update to the City Council. She said the Historical Society received a grant from the State to help fund a stream bank restoration project along the Mississippi River. Shannon Wettstein of the Morrison County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) then updated the Council on the project’s progress and schedule.

The total project is estimated at $140,000, with $70,000 to be provided from the grant funds and $70,000 previously pledged from the city council, Wettstein said.

The funds will be used to restore a section of stream bank at the Historical Society headquarters at the Weyerhaeuser Museum that eroded during a flood event in June 2020.
