Four fabulous tours and one incredible holiday season is what the schedule for this year’s annual Christmas tours in Little Falls entails. With a backbone rooted in the history of the Linden Hill estate, the Rosenmeier home and Aviator Charles Lindbergh’s adventures to modern displays and more at the Minnesota Fishing Museum and Hall of Fame, there is something for everyone. All the tours run from the day after Thanksgiving Day, Friday, Nov. 24 to Sunday, Dec. 3.

This year’s theme at Christmas at the Mansions on the Linden Hill historic estate is “There are angels among us.”

“So expect to see a lot of nods at the angel theme, but then of course, who are angels to us? It’s kind of a fun play on things after years of doing the Christmas tours. Each year being a different theme, this is probably one of the most different ones,” said Julia Mueller, executive director at Friends of Linden Hill.

When touring the green Weyerhaeuser mansion, visitors have an opportunity to step back in history to see a large variety of artifacts from the Weyerhaeuser and Musser families who lived on the estate. Mueller said as Charles Weyerhaeuser and Richard “Drew” Musser came to Little Falls in 1890 to run the Pine Tree Lumber Company, they had the mansions built. Both mansions were designed by Minnesota architect Clarence H. Johnston.

As the green Weyerhaeuser mansion is also a museum, Mueller said visitors have the chance to see a lot of the Christmas decor that was used by the Weyerhaeusers and Mussers back then, with a touch of a few more modern pieces, such as glitter.
